CGCM signs MoU with IOM

The secretariat of CGCM, IID & IOM (International Organization for Migration ) signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) to campaign for the inclusion of critical issues in global compacts and advocating for their adoption, ratification and implementation; contributing to the achievement of global goals through partnership and collective actions; and tracking the progress of the global commitments by collecting evidence and preparing shadow/progress reports.

The MoU was signed today, 28th April, 2020 between IID and IOM at their seperate offices in Dhaka. CEO of IID Syeed Ahamed and Chief of Mission, IOM Bangladesh Giorgi Gigauri, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

The agreement also includes coordinating activities related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM), consultation between IID as Secretariat of CGCM and IOM as Coordinator and Secretariat for the Bangladesh UN Network on Migration on supporting implementation of global commitments on migration.
